UW-Eau Claire grad and former NPR intern shares her story

Posted on Updated on

Breann Schossow hosted Blugold Performance of the Air (now Blugold Radio) when she was a student at UW-Eau Claire. She also reported for The Spectator and the Leader-Telegram.

Post-graduation, Schossow landed an internship at National Public Radio (NPR), an achievement she credits to the experience she gained while in Eau Claire. As an intern, she helped cover stories like the Boy Scout Ineligible Volunteer Files and the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. As a result of her performance as an intern, Schossow was able to get a job as a research assistant for an NPR reporter.

Schossow encourages students to always pursue their dreams. She said, “The worst thing anyone can do to you is say no, and that’s okay because then you say, ‘All right, this isn’t the right avenue.’ Find another one.”

Aired Feb. 17, 2013 on Blugold Radio with Rachel Vick
