Last semester, hosts Jessica Sharpee and Rachel Vick were joined by three members of The Innocent Men. Eric Conner, Dane Jaskowiak, and Ryan Simmons gave us an insider’s look at the all-male a cappella group in this interview, which won third place in the Public Affairs/Talk Show (radio) category at the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Foundation awards.
The Innocent Men is made up of seven members who are all Singing Statesmen. Most of the music they perform is pop covers, but they’ve covered some other ground as well.
The group has performed at the Viennese Ball, 26 Seconds For Sex Trafficking Awareness, Hope for Haiti, Spread the Word to End the Word, the group’s own on-campus concerts, and many more events.
So, what’s with the red Converse sneakers? When The Innocent Men started in 1985, its original members wanted something that unified them as a group. One of the men happened to own a pair of red Converse high tops, and The Innocent Men have been wearing them ever since.
