EAU CLAIRE, Wis., Sep. 24, 2013––Blugold Radio will include interviews with Holocaust survivor Gerda Weissman Klein and performing artist Jonathan Sunde of The Daredevil Christopher Wright during this week’s broadcast.
In the first hour, Jessica Sharpee’s student organizations feature will shine a spotlight on UW-Eau Claire’s Future Lawyers of America.
Rachel Minske will sit down with Holocaust survivor and Medal of Freedom winner Gerda Weissman Klein. Klein has written nine books, including her autobiographical account of the Holocaust, All but My Life and will be the debut speaker in UW-Eau Claire’s Forum Series on Tuesday, October 1 at 7:30 pm in Schofield Auditorium.
During the second hour, Raina Beutel will discover what students think about the Brown Jug Bill. Beutel will report on how the underage drinking culture at UW-Eau Claire has the potential of changing.
Elliott Etzkorn will interview Jonathan Sunde of The Daredevil Christopher Wright. Sunde is working on a solo album and is performing throughout Wisconsin.
Martha Landry will highlight the role honeybees play in Eau Claire and how they help the environment.
In James Pfitzinger’s “Taste of the Workplace” segment, he will talk to UW-Eau Claire student Andrew Kleist who worked for the Center for Disease Control over the summer.
Hour three of Blugold Radio (Sundays 5-8 pm) will include an interview by Kelsie McMahon with the Backwards Thinkers Society. The group consists of UW-Eau Claire theatre students who enjoy performing improvisational comedy.
James Pfitzinger’s sportscast will focus on UW-Eau Claire’s athletic trainers and what their job entails.
During Blugold Radio News, Shelli Adamcyzk will report on the proposed DNR bill that would allow deer as pets, while Zhen Wei Yap will cover the latest on affordable healthcare at UW-Eau Claire. In addition, Chi Ab Vang will learn about UW-Eau Claire’s new food truck and Glenn Olson will talk about the plan to set up people around the Chippewa River at night to prevent more drownings.
