EAU CLAIRE, Wis., Oct. 8, 2013–– Blugold Radio will include interviews with local folk band The Scenic North and improv group The Backwards Thinkers Society during this week’s broadcast.
In the first hour, Jessica Sharpee will profile UW-Eau Claire’s Biology Club. The club is an academic and service based organization whose purpose is to promote biological awareness among its members and fellow students.
This week’s broadcast will also feature a preview of Blugold Radio’s reoccurring history segments that will debut in November. UW-Eau Claire alumni from the 1940’s to 1980’s will describe their experiences at the university and in the community.
Sara Hansen will talk with local folk band The Scenic North. The duo will be performing at UW-Eau Claire’s Cabin on October 19 at 8 pm.
During the second hour of Blugold Radio (Sundays 5-8 pm,) Riana Beutel will get to know this year’s UW-Eau Claire’s Homecoming candidates during her “Raina At Large” segment.
Martha Landry will report on the latest environmental news in the Eau Claire area and James Pfitzinger will highlight UW-Eau Claire students with local internships and jobs in his “Taste of the Workplace” feature.
The third hour will include an interview by Kelsie McMahon with The Backwards Thinkers Society. The group consists of 11 UW-Eau Claire students who perform improvisation shows in the community.
James Pfitzinger will sit down with Spectator staff members David Heiling, Steve Fruehauf, and Nick Erickson to chat about all the latest in local and national sports in this week’s sportscast.
