Blugold Radio Programming for November 3

EAU CLAIRE, Wis., Oct. 29, 2013––Blugold Radio will feature an interview with author Susan de la Vergne and a feature on UW-Eau Claire’s Student Wisconsin Education Association during this week’s broadcast.

During the first hour, Jessica Sharpee will feature UWEC’s Student WEA during her weekly student orgs segment. The organization consists of future teachers and performs outreach throughout the community.

In the second hour of Blugold Radio (Sundays 5-8 pm) Elliot Etzkorn will shine a spotlight on Minneapolis recording label MJMJ Records. The label features artists such as Dakota Bones and Vacation Dad and is working to bring cassettes back into style.

During James Pfitzinger’s Taste of the Workplace segment, he will interview UWEC student Alex Zank. Zank is currently interning with The National Law Journal in Washington D.C.

Hour three will include Kelsie McMahon’s interview with Susan de la Vergne who was a keynote speaker for UWEC’s English Festival on October 28. La Vergne is the author of a book titled You Can’t Manage Time, But You Can Manage Many Priorities and spoke about the many exciting career choices for liberal arts majors, including those in the business field.

Pfitzinger’s sportscast will feature an interview with UWEC football’s Clint Larsen. Larsen helped lead the Blugolds to their first win of the season last Saturday with a 13-6 victory over UW-River Falls and finished with 120 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns.

During Blugold News, Shelli Adamcyzk will explore the police stings being held around Eau Claire involving pedestrians in crosswalks while Glenn Olson will report on how UWEC’s Learning and Technology Services is making the university more tech friendly. Zhen Wei Yap will talk about UWEC’s $CORE program, which is run by the Student Office of Sustainability and provides students with ways to conserve energy.
