This week’s broadcast of Blugold Radio will include a feature on UW-Eau Claire’s Black Student Association as well as an interview with Eau Claire band Meridene.
In the first hour, Jessica Sharpee will be talking with members of UWEC’s Black Student Association. The student organization will discuss the many events the University has scheduled for Black History Month, including the recent African American history student panel that they led.
Chi Ab Vang will continue her Confluence Influence series as she delves deeper into what the Confluence Project would mean to the local community. She will look specifically at what the project would do to area property values.
Sara Hansen will interview Eau Claire band Meridene whose latest album Something Like Blood was released on September 28, 2010 on Amble Down Records. The band plays constantly throughout the Eau Claire area.
During the second hour of Blugold Radio (Sunday 5-8 pm), Raina Beutel will go with an Olympic theme for her Raina At Large segment. She will ask UWEC students what their favorite moments have been so far and what sports they look forward to the most.
In Bridging the Gap with Bre Lyga, Lyga will sit down with Tangled Up in Hue employee Kevin Szymanski. The Eau Claire business is located on 416 South Barstow Street and makes unique handmade art, jewelry and accessories.
Hour three will include the latest study abroad segment by Chelsea Emory as she sits down with three UWEC students who all lived together on the same property in Costa Rica.
This week’s Music Picks of the Week will also focus on Black History Month as Leah Engebretson will play tracks from influential African-American artists.
Blugold Radio News will include a report by Zhen Wei Yap on UWEC’s historical White Rose Centennial Series and a feature by Kiri Salinas on how students are raising money for the Civil Rights Pilgrimage.
