Blugold Radio Programming for March 9 Broadcast

EAU CLAIRE, Wis., March 4–– Blugold Radio airs this Sunday with a focus on popular country and a capella music!

In the first hour Jessica Sharpee will be focusing on UW-Eau Claire student organization ADAP, while Chi Ab Vang will be focusing again on the Confluence Project.

During the second hour of Blugold Radio (Sundays 5-8 pm), Raina Beutel will be talking to students about their plans for spring break during her Raina at Large segment.

Rachel Minske will talk to two Eau Claire students who will soon be presenting their own research at the state capital.

Breana Lyga will be continuing to explore the community of Eau Claire and will be interviewing the owner of the Antique Emporium, a popular antique shop on Main St.  It is one of the largest real antique stores in the midwest and has been with Eau Claire for over 25 years.

Hour three will include a focus by Kelsie McMahon on UWEC’s own all-female a capella group Audacious.  Audacious focuses on empowering strong women through their music and has over 1,000 likes on Facebook.

Chelsea Emory will feature an exciting music segment on songs from Australia and Argentina.

During every hour, Tyler Henderson will be giving the latest updates on local sports. Leah Engebretson will be playing a promotion of the music of artists from the record label Warner Music Nashville such as Blake Shelton, Hunter Hayes, and Gloriana.

Reporter Sam Martinez will be doing a story on homelessness and it’s transition into the Davies building and other areas on the Eau Claire campus.  While reporter Glen Olson will focus on a health scare incident that affected the Davies building on the UWEC campus.

Reporter Zhen Wei Yap will include a story on the UWEC Foreign Language Department offering classes for local elementary schools in the Eau Claire area.  Reporter Kayty Brick will include a localized story on the local ACLU petitioning the ban on gay marriage and will be discussing it with the LGBTQ community on the Eau Claire campus.

Blugold Radio will also include a “Taste of the Workplace” segment by James Pfitzinger and a Student Senate Update by Raina Beutel over the referendum.
