WUEC 89.7 FM PROGRAMMING FOR APRIL 27
EAU CLAIRE, Wis., April 21–– Blugold Radio airs this Sunday with a focus on popular band The Summer Set.
In the first hour for Blugold Radio, Jessica Sharpee will be focusing on UW-Eau Claire’s Pre-Professional Health Club. The club serves all of UWEC’s pre-professional health science students including: Pre-Med, Pre-PA, Pre-Dent, Pre-Vet, and Pre-Opt. The organization is here to inform and help students in preparing for and gaining admission to professional schools.
While Chi Ab Vang will be discussing the Confluence Project and where its set to go from here. She will be talking about UWEC’s attempt to getting funding from the state and possible obstacles it may face as well as next steps the University will have to take.
Reporter Zhen Wei Yap will be doing a focus on the Union Pacific Railroad and their upcoming 3 million dollar investment to improve the railroad in Altoona.
And reporter Kayty Brick will speaking about the upcoming UWEC theatre production DanceWorks 14 which will be shown starting May 1st through the 3rd, with all shows starting at 7:30 P.M. at the Kjer Theatre in Eau Claire on Park Avenue.
During the second hour of Blugold Radio (Sundays 5-8 pm), Raina Beutel will be talking to UWEC students and asking them what their “current jam” is as well as “If you could only have one app on your phone which would it be? for her segment “Raina at Large.”
Rachel Minske will be interviewing UWEC senior and Bio-Chem major Sam Fehling who has been doing fascinating with DNA. DNA refers to a body’s own individual genetic makeup. She will also do a focus on the very recent re-opening of Wendy’s fast food chain restaurant in Eau Claire on Clairemont Ave. The restaurant re-opened Monday the 21st and is in the exact same location as it was before it closed back in 2012.
And for “Bridging the Gap,” Breana Lyga will be speaking with the Complete Vape in Eau Claire. Complete Vape is a vape store that sells electronic cigarettes, personal vaporizers, and vape products and accessories. Complete Vap offers an ever-evolving selection of electronic cigarettes, e-liquids and accessories represents the best that is currently available in the world of vape.
Hour three will include an entertainment segment by Kelsie McMahon who will be interviewing UWEC’s UAC (University Activities Commission) co-chairs over the upcoming campus concert featuring The Summer Set. The Summer Set is a pop-rock group from Scottsdale, Arizona consisting of 5 members that have quickly risen in popularity in the independent music scene. They released their first album Love Like This in 2009, their sophomore album Everything’s Fine in 2011, and their most recent album Legendary in 2013. Tickets for the show are on sale now in the Davies Service Center on the UW-Eau Claire campus. The concert is set for Friday, May, 2nd in the Ojibwe Ballroom in Davies. The doors open at 7 P.M. while the show is planned to begin at 7:30 P.M. Tickets are $5 dollars for UW-Eau Claire students (with a UW-Eau Claire student ID card) and $7 for the general public. A special guest is to be announced as well.
Chelsea Emory will be playing exciting music from China and England.
And during every hour, Tyler Henderson will be giving the latest updates on local sports. While Leah Engebretson will be playing music from The Summer Set.
