WUEC 89.7 FM PROGRAMMING FOR SEPTEMBER 14
EAU CLAIRE, Wis., September 9–– Blugold Radio returns this Sunday after Summer break with a focus on the latest news in Eau Claire.
In the first hour for Blugold Radio, News Director Glen Olson will be covering the latest updates on the Confluence Project that was featured last spring as well as the $33 million renovation of Towers Hall at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The funding for renovations of both of the 10-story wings in UW-Eau Claire’s Towers Residence Hall was included in the regents’ biennial budget request when The University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents approved its 2015 to 2017 capital budget request in late August. The Towers project is set to include the construction of additional common areas, improvements to resident rooms, bathrooms and hallways to meet the current standards, and renovations to accommodate the three new elevators at each core. Towers Hall was built in 1967 and is one of nine UW-Eau Claire residence halls built between 1965 and 1969.
There will also be a story about a new book being published by a current UW-Eau Claire professor. And Reporter Sam Martinez will be talking about off campus student life.
Reporter Brandon Cracker will speak about the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate for his weekly segment.
While Entertainment Reporter and Producer Kayla Menzie will be reporting on the upcoming Festival Palomino at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minnesota on September 20. The music festival features artists: The Head and the Heart, Trampled by Turtles, Low, Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Field Report, Spirit Family Reunion, The Apache Relay, and Erik Koskinen. During hour two, Blugold Radio News will continue.
Reporter and Producer Zhen Wei Yap will introduce his fun International segment and will be giving a preview of what is to come this semester, talk about a few travel tips, and play some folk songs.
Station Manager Breane Lyga will feature weekly her research segment.
And there will also be an exciting new segment featuring Radio Drama by Jacob Meurett.
In the last hour, Blugold Radio News will conclude.
Reporter and Producer Courtney Keuppers will be reporting on UW-Eau Claire’s Rugby Clubs for her segment on UW-Eau Claire student organizations.
While Reporter Matt Rothschild will premiere his new fun gaming segment during hours two and three.
Look for an Event Pick of the Week at the end of each hour by Producer’s Kayla, Zhen, and Courtney and Tyler
Henderson’s hourly segment on sports.
And finally, Jake Paulis will be playing exciting music hours one and three, while Jenna Vande Zande will report on her history segment.
