WUEC 89.7 FM PROGRAMMING FOR SEPTEMBER 21
EAU CLAIRE, Wis., September 16–– Blugold Radio airs this Sunday with a focus on a returning UW-Eau Claire singer/songwriter alumnus.
In the first hour for Blugold Radio, News Director Glen Olson will be talking about UWEC and how the school is facing one of its lowest enrollment levels in the past five to ten years.
While reporter Jake Meurett will do a story on the more gender equal or neutral language change taking place in school documents and textbooks at UW-Eau Claire.
And reporter Sam Martinez will be speaking about the Surplus Store on the UWEC upper campus. UWEC’s Surplus Store has a large emphasis on sustainability and has the goal of repurposing surplus property with an emphasis on keeping as much as possible out of landfills.
Reporter Brandon Craker will speak to UWEC Student Body Vice President Jake Wrasse during his Student Senate segment.
Entertainment reporter and producer Kayla Menzie will be giving an interview with Derek Lynch, a singer/songwriter from Minneapolis, Minnesota and a grad of UWEC. Derek is set to play a gig at The Cabin this upcoming Saturday at 8:00 p.m. She will be discussing his return to Eau Claire as well as playing one of his songs.
And reporter Jenna Vande Zande will be talking about the Chippewa Valley Museum and their new exhibit on health in Eau Claire.
During hour two, reporter and producer Zhen Wei Yap will be speaking with two UWEC students from Brazil. He will be discussing the top ten things you can do, eat, or see in Brazil. Look for a fun music collaboration by reporter Elizabeth Gosling, who will feature music from Brazil.
Reporter Matthew Rothschild will talk about his chat with UWEC’s Super Smash Brothers Club, as well as a quick focus on the Comic Con that took place in Eau Claire on September 13th.
And Jacob Meurett will play part two of his three part Radio Drama segment.
In the last hour, reporter and producer Courtney Kueppers will be reporting on UW-Eau Claire’s Triathlon Club for her segment on UWEC student organizations. The Triathlon Club was established in the fall of 2010 and is a group of athletes that train together to compete specifically in triathlons.
While Jake Paulis will be playing cool rock ‘n’ roll music from the current generation.
Look for an Event Pick of the Week at the end of each hour by Producer’s Kayla, Zhen, and Courtney, as well as Tyler Henderson and Rylan Laughlin’s fresh and upbeat segment on sports.
