WUEC 89.7 FM PROGRAMMING FOR NOVEMBER 2
EAU CLAIRE, Wis., October 28–– Blugold Radio airs this Sunday with a feature on an upcoming performance at Stone’s Throw in downtown Eau Claire.
Producer Kayla Menzie’s “Exploring the Arts” segment this week will highlight an interview with Cory Crowell. Crowell, better known as the rapper Fathom, will be performing at Stone’s Throw on November 8 along with four other artists. Stone’s Throw features live music every Saturday from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
News Director Glen Olson will be discussing what is being done about the excess money generated from student fees for Davies Student Center, text book rentals, and a number of other programs and why those fees are not being lowered.
Reporter Sam Martinez will be speaking about the donation of a number of plays and works to the UW-Eau Claire Foundation by Dr. Tess Onwueme. Onwueme is a professor of English at UW-Eau Claire.
Reporter Matt Rothschild will be discussing a number of new shows like Arrow, Gotham, Flash and Constantine. These shows are part of a current trend of TV series based on DC comics.
Producer Courtney Kueppers will be talking to members of the Johnball Club. Johnball is a modified version of dodgeball that uses large rubber balls and plastic bats. Players use the bats to hit the balls at one another and to deflect a ball coming towards them. If a player is hit they lose a life.
Reporter Eddie Sanchez will be speaking with a University police officer about recent thefts in the Haas Fine Arts building.
Producer Zhen Wei Yap will be a student from Israel for his International segment “The Zhen Plane.” Reporter Elizabeth Gosling will also be playing Israeli music during the broadcast.
Reporter Samantha Wensel will be reviewing “Silver Linings Playbook” for her weekly “Sammi Says” segment. The 2012 film directed by David O. Russell stars Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence. “Silver Linings Playbook” is available for streaming on Netflix.
Reporter Kiri Salinas will be reporting on trick-or-treating in the dorms.
And finally, reporter Jake Paulis will be playing folk music by bands such as “The Silent Comedy” and “Mumford and Sons” throughout the program.
