Blugold Radio Programming for November 9 Broadcast

EAU CLAIRE, Wis., November 4–– Blugold Radio airs this Sunday with a feature on the November 4 election results.

Reporter Kiri Salinas will be covering the 2014 midterm election results. The ballot for the midterm election includes candidates for governor, attorney general, secretary of state, state treasurer, U.S. representatives, senate, and assembly. Two bills are also on the ballot.

Reporter Sam Martinez will be covering a story on faculty and students at the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire using Volume One’s WorkSpace to connect with professionals. This space is used by area entrepreneurs and freelancers to give them a more professional environment to complete their work.

Reporter Matt Rothschild will be conducting an interview with Ashley Soriano. Soriano is a former professional gamer and now has her own YouTube channel with over 40,000 followers.

Reporter Jake Meurett will reveal the next part of his exciting radio drama.

Producer Courtney Kueppers will be talking to members of Foodlums. The goal of Foodlums is to encourage healthy and responsible eating. The organization created and continues to maintain the campus garden in L.E. Phillips Science Hall.

Reporter Eddie Sanchez will be speaking with Odawa White in the Multicultural Affairs Office about the upcoming PowWow event being held at Zorn Arena on the lower campus of UW- Eau Claire on November 8 from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Producer Zhen Wei Yap will be speaking with a student from South Korea for his International segment “The Zhen Plane.” Reporter Elizabeth Gosling will be playing “K-Pop” music during the broadcast.

Sports Reporters Ryan Laughlin and Tyler Henderson will be interviewing an associate at the University of Alabama to discuss college football rankings and the upcoming playoffs.

Reporter Samantha Wensel will be reviewing “Galaxy Quest” for her weekly “Sammi Says” segment. The 1999 science fiction comedy was directed by Dean Parisot and stars Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, and Alan Rickman. “Galaxy Quest” is available for streaming on Netflix.

And finally, reporter Jake Paulis will be playing music from the band Rossonian. Rossonian will be performing in Eau Claire on November 12 at the House of Rock.
