Blugold Radio Programming for November 16 Broadcast

EAU CLAIRE, Wis., November 11–– Blugold Radio airs this Sunday with a feature on the band Rossonian.

Producer Kayla Menzie’s “Exploring the Arts” segment this week will highlight an in-studio performance by Denver based group Rossonian. The alternative rock band is set to perform on November 12 at House of Rock.

Reporter Kiri Salinas will be reporting on Veteran’s day events including information on veteran student art projects, including “The Shrapnel Project” which provides the story of U.S. Army veteran Phillip Schladweiler among other veterans’ and their stories.

Reporter Matt Rothschild will continue with the second part of his interview with Ashley Soriano. Soriano is a former professional gamer who now has her own YouTube channel with over 40,000 followers.

Reporter Jake Meurett will reveal his new buddy cop drama.

Producer Courtney Kueppers will be speaking with members of Tri Sigma as the start of her three week long segment about sororities at the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire. Tri Sigma is a social and philanthropic national American women’s sorority.

Reporter Raina Beutel will be doing a story on the new bus tracking application and cover the current police situation in the Riverview Café on upper campus.

Reporter Eddie Sanchez will be covering UW- Eau Claire’s recognition as a military friendly school for the 6th year in a row.

Producer Zhen Wei Yap will be speaking with a student from Kenya for his International segment “The Zhen Plane.” Reporter Elizabeth Gosling will also be playing Kenyan music during the broadcast.

Reporter Samantha Wensel will be reviewing “Maleficent” for her weekly “Sammi Says” segment. The 2014 film is a contemporary spin-off of the Disney animated classic “Sleeping Beauty.” The film was directed by Robert Stromberg and stars Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning. “Maleficent” is currently available on DVD.

And finally, reporter Jake Paulis will be playing music by Ingrid Michaelson. Michaelson is an indie pop singer and songwriter. She will be performing at UW-Eau Claire on November 18.
