WUEC 89.7 FM PROGRAMMING FOR FEBRUARY 15
EAU CLAIRE, Wis., February 11–– Blugold Radio airs this Sunday with a feature on the deficit in the university’s Organized Activities Budget. The Organized Activities Budget, maintained by the Student Senate Finance Commission, allocates funds to student organizations. News Director Glen Olson will be reporting on how low enrollment and the lack of student segregated fee money has caused this budget problem.
Station Manager Breane Lyga will be interviewing UW-Eau Claire English professor, Joel Pace. Pace is collaborating with an artist from the Twin Cities and will have his poetry featured in an art display. Reporter Simone Foster will also conduct a profile story on a UW-Eau Claire professor who recently published a book exploring the lives of the original Siamese Twins.
This week’s broadcast will also feature some exciting entertainment highlights. Producer Kayla Menzie will interview Matt Peterson, Station Manager at the on-campus TV station, TV10. They will discuss what is new at TV10 and things to look forward to this semester. Producer Courtney Kueppers and Reporter Elizabeth Gosling will be exploring Brazilian culture and music during this week’s international segment. And Reporter Jake Paulis will play Daft Punk music throughout the show.
Reporter Leah Engebretson will review and compare the 2 “Footloose” films: the original 1984 film starring Kevin Bacon and Lori Singer and the 2011 remake starring Kenny Wormald, Julianne Hough and Dennis Quaid.
Finally, Producer Sammi Wensel will be interviewing the manager of Tacos Juanitas during her ‘Eau Claire Eats’ segment. Tacos Juanitas is an authentic Mexican restaurant located near the London mall area of Eau Claire.
