Blugold Radio Programming April 5 Broadcast

EAU CLAIRE, Wis., April 1 – Blugold Radio airs on 89.7 FM from 5 to 8 p.m. this Sunday with a feature by Reporter Raina Beutel on UW-Eau Claire residence halls opening as lodging for Eaux Claires Music and Arts Festival attendees. The festival is being held for the first time on July 17 and 18.

In news, Reporter Kiri Salinas will report on UW System President Ray Cross’ visit to Eau Claire. Cross will be at UW-Eau Claire on Wednesday, April 1 to discuss the possible budget cuts and changes to the UW System. Reporter Symone Foster will be conducting a story on the approval by the Wisconsin State Building commission for $33 million dollars in renovations to the Towers residence hall in the 2015-17 state budget. Finally, Station Manager Breane Lyga will continue her Research segment with an interview with recent UW- Eau Claire Psychology graduate Jade Goetz. Goetz is conducting research with Center for Alcohol Studies and Education (CASE) on photo-mapping alcohol use in the Eau Claire area.

This week’s broadcast will once again feature exciting entertainment highlights. Producer Kayla Menzie will speak to Tom Wagener, the director of the Foster Gallery in Haas Fine Arts Center, during her Exploring the Arts segment. Assistant Producer Jake Paulis will play music from Rob Cantor an American musician who produces a mix of synthetic rock and comedy songs while Producer Courtney Kueppers and Assistant Producer Elizabeth Gosling visit Mexico with international student Liliana Romero during this week’s International segment.

Also in entertainment, Assistant Producer Miles Melton- Mraz will review the 2013 film “The Tale of Princess Kaguya”. This Japanese animated fantasy drama film was recently released in the United States in 2014 and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature at the 87th Academy Awards.

Finally, Producer Sammi Wensel will be visiting Galloway Grille for her Eau Claire Eats segment. Galloway Grille is located on Galloway Street in downtown Eau Claire.
