Blugold Radio Programming April 19 Broadcast

EAU CLAIRE, Wis., April 15 — Blugold Radio 89.7 FM airs this Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. with a feature story by Reporter Raina Beutel about the Eau Claire Jazz Festival. The annual festival is being held this Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18 in downtown Eau Claire.

Station Manager Breane Lyga will be reporting on new access UW- Eau Claire Environmental public health students will have to federally sanctioned air monitors. These monitors will be used by students and the director of Environmental public health, Dr. Crispin Pierce, to continue research on air quality around industrial sand mining sites. Reporter Kiri Salinas will be reporting on the Just Bag It Sustainability Fashion Show happening tonight, Wednesday, April 15 at 7:00 p.m. in the Ojibwe ballroom. The show is put on by Housing and Residence Life: Sustainability and is a kick-off event to Earth Week.

This week’s broadcast will also feature some exciting entertainment highlights. Producer Kayla Menzie will be interviewing member of Forward Brass Band during her ‘Exploring the Arts’ segment. Forward Brass is an eleven member, New Orleans jazz style band. The band will be performing at the Blugold Radio Spring Music Festival on Thursday, May 7 at 7:00 p.m. in Scholfield auditorium. Assistant Producer Jake Paulis will also be playing music from other bands that will be performing at the music festival.

Producer Courtney Kueppers and Assistant Producer Elizabeth Gosling will be exploring Australian culture and music during their international segment.

Also in entertainment, Assistant Producers Miles Melton-Mraz and Symone Foster will be collaborating this week to review the 2013 film “Enemy” starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Assistant Producer Matthew Rothschild will be interviewing the Space Engineers Youtuber Ecostage.

Finally, Producer Sammi Wensel will be visiting Egg Roll Plus during her ‘Eau Claire Eats’ segment. Egg Roll Plus features authentic Asian cuisine and is located on Bellinger Street in Eau Claire.
