WUEC 89.7 FM PROGRAMMING FOR MAY 3

EAU CLAIRE, Wisc., April 29 – Blugold Radio 89.7 FM airs this Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. with a feature on the upcoming Blugold Radio Spring Music Festival. Producer Kayla Menzie will be interviewing Granite Rose during her ‘Exploring the Arts’ segment and Assistant Producer Jake Paulis will play music from Forward Brass Band. The festival is taking place Thursday, May 7 at 7:00 p.m. in Scholfield Auditorium on the UW-Eau Claire campus. Tickets are on sale at the Davies Service Center.

In news, Reporter Symone Foster will be covering the Eau Claire marathon happening this weekend. The marathon includes three different length races: a full marathon, half marathon and 5k. Station Manager Breane Lyga will be continuing her research segment by reporting on the annual Celebration of Excellence in Research and Activity (CERCA) event happening at UW-Eau Claire on Wednesday, April 29 and Thursday, April 30. Reporter Kiri Salinas is working on a story about what resources the university offers to students if their roommate dies and Reporter Raina Beutel will be reporting on “Denim Day,” a day designated to raising awareness about sexual assault.

Finally, in entertainment, Assistant Producer Miles Melton-Mraz will be reviewing the 2009, South Korean film “Mother” and Assistant Producer Matt Rothschild will continue his Binkert interview.

WUEC 89.7 FM is a professional and unique student run program. Blugold Radio broadcasts from HIbbard Humanities Hall on the UW-Eau Claire campus Sunday nights from 5 to 8 p.m.
