WUEC 89.7 FM PROGRAMMING FOR MAY 17
EAU CLAIRE, Wis., May 13–– Blugold Radio 89.7 FM airs this Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. with a feature story by Reporter Raina Beutel on the removal of state funding from the Confluence project. Earlier this week, the Joint Finance Committee removed the $15 million funding from the next state budget.
In university news, News Director Glen Olson will give an update on the possible Public Authority model for state universities and the effect that it may have on the colleges. Reporter Kiri Salinas will conduct a profile on Dr. Jamie Lyman Gingerich, a UW- Eau Claire biology professor studying nematodes. Nematodes are a round worm that can affect human health. Also in university news, Reporter Symone Foster will be discussing a new summer job fair that was held May 7 at UW- Eau Claire. The job fair is being coordinated by the collaborative efforts of the UW- Eau Claire College Democrats and College Republicans. In local news, Station Manager Breane Lyga will be spotlighting the first annual Chippewa Valley mini golf tournament.
This week’s broadcast will also feature some exciting entertainment highlights. Producer Courtney Kueppers and Assistant Producer Elizabeth Gosling will be traveling to Japan this week on ‘Country Hopping with Courtney’ while Producer Sammi Wensel travels down the street to review El Patio during this week’s ‘Eau Claire Eats’ segment. El Patio is a Mexican restaurant that recently moved to a new location on Water Street in Eau Claire.
Finally in entertainment, Assistant Producer Miles Melton-Mraz will be reviewing the 1957 film, “12 Angry Men” and Assistant Producer Jake Paulis will play music from American alternative rock band, “Cake.”
